Oliver Enterprises, Inc., d/b/a Bill Oliver Horsemanship (“Oliver Enterprises” or “We”) value your privacy. This Privacy Policy applies to data processing carried out by Oliver Enterprises for anyone (“You” or “User”) who accesses or contacts Oliver Enterprises through Bill Oliver’s website for Online Education and Training at www.billoliver.thinkific.com, (the “OET Site”). 


NOTE: This policy does not apply to the general Bill Oliver Horsemanship website at www.billoliverhorsemanship.com, which has its own privacy policy.


 Bill Oliver’s Online Education and Training courses and the OET website are hosted by Thinkific Labs Inc. (“Thinkific”). Thinkific provides Oliver Enterprises with the platform that allow us to provide our education and training product/services to you online.  Your data is stored through Thinkific’s data storage, databases and the general Thinkific application. Thinkific stores your data on a secure server behind a firewall.  


1. What information do we collect and what do we do with it?

We may collect and use personal information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or household. As used herein, the terms Personal Data or Information shall refer to any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.  


We will NOT collect Sensitive Personal Data or Information, such as a consumer’s social security number, driver’s license and passport numbers, account numbers and credentials, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, or union membership, personal Information concerning a consumer’s health, sex life, or sexual orientation, contents of a consumer’s mail, email, and text messages where the business is not the intended recipient, genetic data, biometric information, or citizenship and immigration status.

When you enroll as a student or subscriber (“Learner”) on the OET Site, as part of the enrolling process, we collect the Personal Information you give us such as your name and email address.

Oliver Enterprises requests that Users not provide any Sensitive Personal Information and not provide any Personal Information other than the items that are specifically requested. To the extent that a User provides additional Personal Information or provides Sensitive Personal Information, Oliver Enterprises will not use that Personal Information or Sensitive Personal Information except as described herein, including for the legitimate business interests of Oliver Enterprises and to comply with legal and regulatory requirements.


How We Collect Your Personal Data

  • Via submission form on the OET Site 

We collect data submitted by Users through submission forms on the OET Site when a User enrolls as a student or subscriber. Data collected through these forms may include Name, Email Address, Oliver Enterprises discourages Users from providing Sensitive Personal Information and submitting any Personal Information except as specifically requested through the submission form.


How & Why We Use Your Personal Data

Data privacy laws indicate Oliver Enterprises may only use Your Personal Information:

Oliver Enterprises may use Your Personal Information in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy and the context of our relationship with You.

Oliver Enterprises may use Your Personal Information including Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and Log-in information:

Generally, the storage period of Your Personal Data is determined by the duration of your relationship with Oliver Enterprises and any legally established limits. Thus, the criteria employed by Oliver Enterprises to determine how long to store data is based on applicable legal requirements and regulatory guidelines as well as the operational needs of Oliver Enterprises that we may manage our relationships with various stakeholder groups.

 

If you maintain any business or contractual relationship with Oliver Enterprises, we will retain your personal data. 

 

Upon the conclusion of your business relationship with Oliver Enterprises, we will delete your personal data upon concluding all necessary actions to manage and finalize any obligation remaining between the parties. Oliver Enterprises will complete all necessary administrative procedures at that time, unless you have provided us with your express consent to send you business communications, in which case we will keep your personal data until you withdraw your consent.

 

Your data will be appropriately blocked if any liability exists related to our contractual or pre-contractual relationship, or until Oliver Enterprises has fulfilled all its legal obligations.

 

Oliver Enterprises may retain your personal data so that we have an accurate record of your dealings with us in the event of any complaints or challenges or if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation relating to your personal data or dealings. Oliver Enterprises may use your personal data to prosecute or defend against any legal claims, or when obligated to provide it to any public administration, judge, or court. Oliver Enterprises may also retain any agreements between You and Oliver Enterprises, including but not limited to any liability waivers or media releases.

By using the OET Site (including signing up for an account on the OET Site, providing Your Personal Information to enroll as a student or subscriber, making a purchase on the OET Site , or participating in a course on the OET Site ), You agree that the terms of this Privacy Policy shall apply to Your Personal Information. 


If we ask to use Your Personal Data for any purpose not covered by this Privacy Policy, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no.

3. Payment:

If You make a purchase on the OET Site, we use a third-party payment processor such as Stripe or Paypal to process the transaction. Payments are encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete Your purchase transaction.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.


PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our site and related courses and its service providers.

 

4. Third Party Services

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose Your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.


However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for Your purchase-related transactions.

When you click on links on our course site, they may direct you away from our site. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to read their privacy statements.

To protect Your personal information, we take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed.


If you provide us with your credit card information, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with a AES-256 encryption.  Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.

We collect cookies or similar tracking technologies. This means information that our website’s server transfers to your computer. This information can be used to track your session on our website. Cookies may also be used to customize our website content for you as an individual. If our site or course is acquired or merged with another company, your information may be transferred to the new owners so that we may continue to sell products to you.
